If you’re going to fly, fly Lufthansa. The plane took off exactly on time and then we were served a full MEAL, with metal utensils, about an hour after the flight left Boston.

As we’re finishing up the meal, the crew is coming thru the cabin holding bottles of wine! Would you like some? Uh, yeah! It was a giddy experience for us, the non-world travelers. Like any good story (or infomercial) there’s more.

After the plates were cleared, the same crew member came thru the cabin to offer coffee, tea, brandy, or Bailey’s! We had no coffee or tea, but we had some Bailey’s. Andrée couldn’t stop giggling. Neither could Alison after they offered her some booze too.

After two hours of fitful sleep (of a seven hour fight) we descended into Munich, Germany for our layover. The countryside was filled with neverending fields and thousands of wind turbines. The Alps, I think, were also in the background as we made our way to the airport. We breezed thru passport control and now find ourselves sitting in comfy recliners awaiting our next flight to Vienna, Austria.
